In New Brunswick, birth certificates or birth registrations were not required before 1888 and the law was not enforced until about 1920.

All available birth certificates and birth registrations are on the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick website under Vital Statistics. If the birth record is not there, it either does not exist, or is modern and protected by privacy laws. You can download a copy or contact the Provincial Archives if you require certified copies. Fundy Coast Genealogy is not able to fast-track the certification process on your behalf.

Availability of baptismal records depends on the religion of the family, timelines and locations. Not all church records have survived. Not all religions baptize children. Not all children were baptized. Fundy Coast Genealogy can direct you to the repositories for existing baptismal records.
